Financial Capability & Emergency Relief Worker

The Financial Capability & Emergency Relief Worker supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families to strengthen financial stability, build everyday money management skills, and respond to immediate financial hardship through the Emergency Relief Funding (ERF).The role is delivered through Waltja’s Financial Wellbeing Hub and focuses on culturally safe, practical, and trauma-informed support for Aboriginal clients who may experience financial stress related to income insecurity, housing pressure, utilities hardship, family responsibilities, and community obligations.

The position is primarily based in Alice Springs and includes trips to remote communities to support outreach activities as required under the program delivery.

The primary client group for this role is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families from Central Australia, including those living in Alice Springs and those visiting town from remote communities. Service delivery recognises cultural obligations, collective decision-making, and the broader social context affecting financial wellbeing.
