Job summary

New Point Recruitment represents a well-established Australian engineering and manufacturing business on the Gold Coast seeking a Financial Controller to own finance across multiple entities. This permanent three-day-per-week role works directly with the CEO and focuses on cost, margin, cashflow and profitability.

Ideal candidates will have CA/CPA, manufacturing experience, and strong budgeting, forecasting and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or product/project environments.
• Strong understanding of COGS, margins, inventory/WIP and cost allocation.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow capability.
• Commercial mindset with strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management across multiple entities.
• Financial and management reporting, including variance analysis.
• COGS, margin and profitability analysis across products, projects and work centres.
• Financial modelling to support pricing and commercial decisions.
• Improving purchasing controls, cost allocation and spend visibility.
• Managing month-end, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Collaborating with operations and engineering on R&D spend and tax incentives.
• Managing banking and external advisors while supporting the accounts team.
