Job summary

Melba Support Services is seeking a part-time Disability Support Worker to provide personalised care across SIL, ISA, and community supports in Victoria. You'll help people live meaningful, self-directed lives with independence, choice and control, tailoring support to each person's goals and preferences.

Applicants should have a desire to support human rights and inclusion, with current first aid and driver license, and availability for weekend or night shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability, Diploma of Community Services or equivalent qualification is highly regarded but not mandatory.
• Previous disability, aged care, community services or support work experience is highly regarded, but not essential.
• A genuine desire to support people to live the life they choose.

Responsibilities

• Support people to build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist people to participate in community, recreational, educational and employment-related activities.
• Provide practical day-to-day support, including personal care and daily living assistance where required.
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance where required and authorised.
• Build positive relationships with people supported, families and support networks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records; work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality, person-led support.
