Job summary

Contract Care Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a participant in Scarness, Hervey Bay QLD. The role focuses on independence and quality of life, with an emphasis on professional care and clear documentation.

Responsibilities include daily living assistance, community access, meal prep, appointments, and collaboration with family and coordinators. Part-time hours and above-award pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check required.
• Working with Children Check – QLD where applicable.
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Police Check within the last 12 months.
• Full Australian Driver's Licence.
• Comprehensive car insurance if using your vehicle to transport the participant.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Evidence of all required compliance documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Support community access and participation.
• Assist with household tasks and meal preparation.
• Help the participant attend appointments and activities.
• Provide companionship and social support.
• Follow individual support plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies where applicable.
• Support medication routines per care plan and procedures.
• Maintain professional boundaries and promote dignity, privacy and independence.
• Complete accurate shift notes and required documentation.
• Report incidents or changes to the team.
• Collaborate with the participant, family, and support coordinators.
