Are you an experienced Dental Assistant who takes pride in delivering exceptional standards, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys being part of a hardworking, professional team?

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable part-time Dental Assistant to support our volunteer dental programs every Monday.

About Us

The Australian Dental Association (NSW Branch) is the peak professional association representing more than 5,000 dentists and dental students across NSW and the ACT. The Opportunity

You will play a key role in ensuring our volunteer dental programs administered by ADA NSW, Filling the Gap (FTG) and the ADA Dental Health Foundation (ADA DHF) run smoothly and professionally. You will support the Clinic Coordinator and volunteer dental professionals, support safe and efficient clinic operations, and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, technically capable, and committed to delivering an outstanding experience.

About You

You are a self-starter who takes initiative, enjoys problem-solving, and consistently demonstrates professionalism and attention to detail.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a clinical dental environment
  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Dental Radiography) or a willingness to work towards obtaining this qualification
  • Radiation User Licence (IA24 highly desirable)
  • A commitment to infection prevention and control, sterilisation protocols and workplace safety and best-practice clinical standards
  • Experience in stock management and equipment readiness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt effectively to changing demands and unexpected situations
  • A positive, flexible and customer-focused approach
  • A willingness to learn, contribute ideas, and continuously improve processes
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms, including equipment, instruments, consumables and stock
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and sterilisation
  • Provide chairside assistance when required
  • Help provide a comfortable and positive experience for our patients and volunteers
  • Assist with inventory management and stocktakes
  • Drive continuous improvement through the development and review of procedures, checklists, workflows and administrative processes
Why Join Us?

In addition to working in a modern, innovative educational environment, we offer:

  • Free on-site parking
  • Convenient location close to metro, bus and train services
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Staff recognition and rewards program
  • Annual staff celebrations and events
  • Opportunities to work with leading clinicians and emerging technologies
