Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a part-time Data Licensing and Contracts Officer for the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN). You will support data licensing, contract management and IP processes across a national research network, translating data needs into legal instructions and ensuring datasets are secured for urban research.

Qualified candidates will hold a law or business degree with contract experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work both

Qualifications

• Hold or are completing a relevant law or business degree with experience in contract development or management.
• Demonstrate experience working in an office environment, using the Microsoft Office suite with high accuracy and efficiency.
• Exhibit strong organisational and time management skills, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines in changing environments.
• Work independently and collaboratively, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders on contractual matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Legal, Risk and Compliance Manager to prepare and refine data licensing and partnering documentation.
• Coordinate tracking, management and timely completion of routine contractual and licensing tasks within AURIN's systems and processes.
• Support contract compliance by implementing tools to monitor obligations, report progress and encourage team collaboration and participation.
• Identify and elevate contractual risks, helping secure appropriate University approvals and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
• Maintain accurate contract files and intellectual property records that meet University policy and audit trail requirements.
