Job summary

Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen is seeking a part-time cook in Melbourne to prepare fresh Mexican dishes. You’ll work mornings, evenings or overnight shifts in a busy hospitality environment, following our recipe guide and standards.

Training is provided to help you succeed and grow with the team. Ideal candidates will have kitchen experience, a certificate or equivalent in commercial cookery, and a solid understanding of food safety, with strong interpersonal and communication skills for guest

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals following the Guzman y Gomez recipe guide and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety practices in the kitchen.
• Assist with stock checks and portion control as part of a busy team.

Following the GYG recipe guide, your role will see you working with fresh ingredients and vibrant Mexican flavours, delivering quality creations for our new and loyal guests.

We are currently looking for people on a part time basis, with availability for mornings (6am-2pm) closing (4pm-12am) and overnights (10pm-6am).

We appreciate diverse experience, but specifically, we are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience
• Good understanding of food safety concerns
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
