Job summary

Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen in Melbourne is seeking a Cook to join our kitchen team. You will work with fresh ingredients and follow the GYG recipe guide to deliver tasty, high‑quality Mexican dishes for our guests.

We welcome people for part-time or full-time roles, with 3–5 shifts per week between 5:30am and 12am. The role offers flexible rosters, training, staff discounts, uniforms, and clear pathways into leadership within the brand.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment.
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience.
• Good understanding of food safety concerns.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to the GYG recipe guide.
• Work with fresh ingredients to deliver quality meals for guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety standards.

As a Cook at GYG, you will be at the heart of our mission to serve up the best Mexican food experience. Following the GYG recipe guide, your role will see you working with fresh ingredients and vibrant Mexican flavours, delivering quality creations for our new and loyal guests.

We are currently looking for people that are available part time or full time, and can work 3-5 shifts a week. Hours will be between 5:30am and 12am, with a mixture of opens and closes.

We appreciate diverse experience, but specifically, we are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience
• Good understanding of food safety concerns
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
