Job summary

Guzman y Gomez is seeking a part-time Cook in Melbourne to prepare authentic Mexican dishes following the GYG recipe guide. You will work with fresh ingredients in a busy hospitality setting, delivering quality meals to both new and loyal guests.

The role requires flexibility with rosters and a commitment to food safety and teamwork. Candidates with a Certificate in commercial cookery are preferred, with opportunities for training and career progression within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Guzman y Gomez recipe guide to prepare dishes.
• Work with fresh ingredients and deliver quality creations for guests.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

We are looking for a cook that is available part time with flexible availability. This will be approximately two shifts a week.

We appreciate diverse experience, but specifically, we are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience in a kitchen / cooking role within a busy hospitality environment
• Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience
• Good understanding of food safety concerns
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
