Job summary

Mercure Perth on Hay is seeking a Part Time Commis Chef to join Hop & Huddle Bar & Eatery in the heart of Perth. You will work across breakfast, lunch and dinner, helping to create memorable culinary moments for guests.

The role requires a trade qualification and experience in hotel/restaurant settings, with excellent technical cooking knowledge, communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to high food safety standards.

Qualifications

Trade qualification and experience in a similar role.
Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
Exemplary communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
Keep all working areas clean and tidy including washing dishes and kitchen cleaning. Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Head Chef.
