Job summary

Little Navigators Early Learning Pty Ltd in Everton Park, QLD is seeking a dedicated Cook/Chef to plan, order and prepare healthy meals for 70 children each day, with a focus on nutrition and dietary needs. This part-time role runs Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 2.00pm, with no weekends or night shifts.

You will maintain a clean kitchen, adhere to food safety standards, manage inventory and collaborate with staff to create a welcoming mealtime experience while supporting healthy eating habits.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare cooking preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nutrition for young children.
• Food Handling and Food Safety Supervisor Certification.
• Completed or willing to complete Child Safety Training CST 1-4.
• Blue Card holder.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Passion for cooking healthy meals for children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, order and prepare balanced meals and snacks for 70 children daily.
• Cater to dietary needs and restrictions (allergies, cultural preferences).
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following health regulations.
• Collaborate with staff to create a positive mealtime atmosphere.
• Manage inventory, including ordering and purchasing food supplies.
• Keep accurate records in line with Food Safety Standards.
• Engage with children during mealtimes to promote healthy eating.
