Job summary

Goodstart Bowen in Bowen, QLD is seeking a Centre Cook for a part-time role (25 hours per week, 8:30am–1:30pm). You will prepare nutritious meals, accommodate dietary needs, and contribute to healthy outcomes for children.

Responsibilities include planning menus, ordering supplies, and upholding strict food-safety standards to ensure hygienic preparation and storage. Prior childcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or have experience cooking in childcare.
• Current QLD Working with Children Check is required.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training via Geccko platform.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals with dietary requirements and allergies in mind.
• Plan menus and order food supplies in consultation with Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety in storage, handling, and preparation of meals and drinks.
• Work a part-time roster of 25 hours per week (8:30am–1:30pm).
