Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a Budget Officer in the Property and Business Development department. You will prepare, monitor and analyse budgets, and deliver clear reports to support budget owners and long-term sustainability.

You will work independently with deadlines, handle confidential information and communicate complex financial data to diverse audiences, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or finance.
• Experience in financial management and budgeting procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of online financial systems and spreadsheets.
• Ability to work independently with deadlines and handle confidential information.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and analyse budgets for the department.
• Deliver reporting to support budget owners and sustainability.
• Reconcile journals and perform financial data analysis.
• Assist with property purchases, sales and rentals administration.
