We are looking for an experienced and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team and provide bookkeeping and accounting support across three associated companies.
This role is ideal for someone who has strong bookkeeping and accounting experience, enjoys working independently, and is confident managing the day-to-day financial administration of multiple businesses.
The position will initially be approximately 10 hours per week, worked across 2 x 5-hour shifts. We understand the importance of flexibility, so the successful applicant will have the option to choose which two days of the week they would prefer to work.
There is also potential for the hours and responsibilities to increase as the role develops.
You will be responsible for bookkeeping and accounting duties across three separate companies, including:
Preparing and assisting with Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Processing payroll, including employee wages, superannuation and payroll-related records
Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions across all three businesses
Using MYOB and Xero
Preparing and issuing client invoices
Accounts receivable and accounts payable
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Allocating and reconciling payments
Maintaining accurate financial records for each company
Monitoring outstanding invoices and accounts
General ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
Assisting with month-end accounting processes
Maintaining clear separation of transactions, expenses and records between each business entity
Preparing financial reports and information for management
Liaising with management and external accountants as required
General financial administration across the group of companies
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous bookkeeping or accounts experience
Strong knowledge and practical experience using MYOB and Xero
Experience preparing BAS
Experience with payroll processing
A sound understanding of GST and general accounting principles
Experience working across multiple companies, entities or accounts
The ability to manage and prioritise bookkeeping requirements across three different businesses
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
The ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities
