Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a well-established accounting practice in Melbourne to hire an experienced Bookkeeper. The role covers a portfolio of around 20 SME clients and end-to-end bookkeeping using Xero.

Flexibility offered with part-time or full-time options; candidates with BAS/IAS experience will be considered for full-time, while those focusing on payroll and general bookkeeping are invited for part-time.

• Familiar with BAS, GST and payroll compliance.
• Experience with Xero.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 20 SME clients.
• End-to-end bookkeeping using Xero.
• Bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
• Month-end processing and reporting.
• Preparation of management reports including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.
• Processing payroll across multiple businesses.
• Managing employee onboarding, leave, terminations and final pays.
• STP reporting, superannuation and statutory compliance obligations.
• Preparing and lodging TPAR reports.

Description

• Managing a portfolio of approximately 20 SME clients
• End-to-end bookkeeping using Xero
• Bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable management
• Month-end processing and reporting

Profile

• Proven experience in bookkeeping within the professional services industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with BAS, GST, and payroll compliance.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and stakeholders.

• EOFY compliance reporting and reconciliations
