Job summary

Gunnedah Shire Council is seeking a motivated finance professional to join the Expenditure/Accounts Payable team on a permanent part-time basis. You will manage creditors, process payments, reconcile statements and assist with taxation and compliance duties.

Flexible days (2 or 3 days per week) with opportunities for professional development and salary packaging. The role focuses on accurate processing, timely payment of creditors, and maintaining robust financial records within Council policies

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable and reconciliation processes.
• Certificate III Business Administration or equivalent will be highly regarded.
• Strong computer and data input skills and the ability to work in a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Input and reconcile creditors; certify purchase orders and attach certifications.
• Reconcile creditor statements and follow up on invoices.
• Process contractors and royalty payments; prepare claims for meetings and travel.
