Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator in the grasscontrol section of Parks & Recreation Services to efficiently operate plant and equipment for vegetation management across Open Space areas in the Toowoomba Region. The role includes safe operation and maintenance of machinery and occasional supervision of casual crews during peak periods.

Qualifications

• WHS competency (White Card/CPCWHS1001 or equivalent) to work safely.
• Current MR Driver's Licence or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• ACDC Spraying certificate is highly desirable.
• Working in proximity to traffic (Part 1 & 2) or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of machinery with different power capacities.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Accountability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment efficiently in line with Council policies.
• Provide occasional supervision to casual work teams during peak periods.
• Maintain and safely operate machinery used in vegetation control.
• Work under limited supervision.
