Job summary

City of Canterbury Bankstown Council in Panania is seeking a Crew Leader for Open Space and Buildings Operations. You will lead a small crew to maintain parks, sportsfields and ovals, ensuring work aligns with service agreements and schedules.

The role is permanent full-time and includes a Four-Day Week pilot with a 36-hour week and full pay, plus opportunities for professional growth and training within the council.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Greenkeeping, Horticulture, Landscaping or similar field.
• Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of staff at an operational level.
• Undertake On the Job Toolbox Talks prior to daily activities.
• Ensure parks, sportsfields, ovals, etc. are prepared, maintained and renovated as per service agreements and rosters.
• Provide recommendations for annual improvement, maintenance and renovation programs and implement as required.
• Inspect sportsfields and ovals after heavy rainfall and advise on opening/closing.
• Assist the Team Leader to plan and organise day-to-day activities and ensure adequate resourcing.
• Assist in providing feedback to clubs and park users and resolve minor maintenance issues.
• Support on-the-job skills development and training for staff.
