Job summary

City of Canterbury Bankstown Council – Panania NSW is seeking a Crew Leader to join Open Space and Buildings Operations. The permanent full-time role focuses on maintaining parks, sportsfields and ovals, leading a crew and coordinating daily workloads.

The position offers a 36-hour four-day week pilot with the same pay, 6:00am–4:00pm shifts, and a starting salary of $80,351 (Grade E, Step 1) + AWACA + 12% super, with negotiable terms based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small team at an operational level.
• Experience in sportsfield preparation and maintenance.
• Ability to plan and coordinate daily crew activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of staff at an operational level.
• Undertake on the Job Toolbox Talks prior to daily activities.
• Ensure parks, sportsfields and ovals are prepared and maintained per service agreements.
• Provide recommendations for annual improvement and renovation programs.
• Inspect sportsfields and ovals after rainfall and advise on opening/closing.
• Assist Team Leader to plan day-to-day activities and resource crew.
• Support on‑the‑job skills development and training for staff.

Education

Tertiary qualifications in Greenkeeping/Horticulture/Landscaping
