Job summary

Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking a Permanent, Full-time Parking and Local Laws Officer based in Altona, Melbourne. The role focuses on parking enforcement, local law investigations, and community education to ensure safe, accessible environments.

Applicants will engage with residents and businesses, gather evidence, and maintain compliant records. A Certificate IV in related fields or equivalent experience is required, with pre-employment checks and a Victorian Driver's Licence expected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct parking patrols, inspections and investigations, issuing infringements where required.
• Investigate local law matters including abandoned vehicles, illegal dumping and amenity issues.
• Educate and engage with residents, businesses and visitors to promote voluntary compliance.
• Gather evidence and maintain accurate records, case notes and compliance documentation.
• Contribute to community safety and public amenity through regulatory services and enforcement activities.

As a Parking and Local Laws Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting a safe, accessible and welcoming community. Working across both outdoor and office environments, you'll investigate parking and local law matters, educate residents and businesses, and help resolve compliance issues through a balanced approach of customer service, education and enforcement.
