Job summary

Hobsons Bay City Council is looking for a dedicated Parking and Local Laws Officer to support a safe, accessible community. The role covers parking patrols, investigation of local law matters, education for residents and businesses, and compliance enforcement.

The successful candidate will interpret legislation, gather evidence, and maintain thorough records while contributing to public safety and amenity. A Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory, enforcement or customer service environments.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations and local laws.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience conducting investigations, evidence gathering and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct parking patrols, inspections and investigations, issuing infringements as required.
• Investigate local law matters including abandoned vehicles, illegal dumping and amenity issues.
• Educate and engage residents, businesses and visitors to promote voluntary compliance.
• Gather evidence and maintain records, case notes and compliance documentation.
• Contribute to community safety and public amenity through regulatory services and enforcement.

As a Parking and Local LawsOfficer, you'll play an important role in supporting a safe,accessible and welcoming community. Working across both outdoor andoffice environments, you'll investigate parking and local lawmatters, educate residents and businesses, and help resolvecompliance issues through a balanced approach of customer service,education and enforcement.
