Job summary

G’day Group’s Blackwater Workstay operation in Queensland seeks an experienced people leader to own a busy property of 300+ rooms and a 30-strong onsite team. You’ll partner with Ausco and internal leaders to balance guest experience, safety, and service while driving efficiencies.

You’ll manage day-to-day operations, coordinate accommodation, F&B, housekeeping and maintenance, and lead a hands-on, collaborative team committed to delivering a superior guest journey across Australia’s largest

Qualifications

• Around 5 years’ management experience in a relevant operational environment.
• Strong people leadership and team management capability.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing a large or complex hospitality, accommodation, village or Workstay operation.
• A qualified chef or equivalent food-service experience is essential
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The ability to multitask and manage competing operational demands.
• Experience with RMS or other reservation/property management systems.
• A current driver's licence, First Aid and Food Safety Supervisor qualification.
• A practical, hands‑on management style and willingness to step in where needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Workstay property and Blackwater Central Motel.
• Lead, support and develop a large, diverse onsite team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Ausco and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate accommodation, food and beverage, housekeeping and general property operations.
• Maintain high standards across guest experience, presentation, safety and service.
• Manage competing operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide hands‑on leadership and support to the team.
• Drive operational efficiencies and ensure the property runs smoothly.
• Work closely with the Assistant Manager and wider operational leadership team.
