Job summary

CVGT Employment is seeking a Parent Pathways Mentor to support parents of young children in overcoming barriers and pursuing education or employment. You will connect families with childcare, training, financial assistance, and wellbeing services.

You will deliver personalised case management, maintain caseloads, and promote the program while building strong local partnerships and engaging communities across outreach locations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Community Services or related field completed, in progress, or willingness to undertake.
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, rapport-building and effective engagement with diverse participants.
• Initiative, organisational skills and ability to plan and run community engagement activities.
• Proficient with a broad range of digital tools and multiple systems.
• Full work rights in Australia, with ability to travel locally and obtain checks.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with parents, support goal-setting, and coach toward education, employment and personal growth.
• Deliver strengths-based, personalised case management for parents juggling parenting and barriers.
• Connect participants with childcare, training, financial assistance and wellbeing services.
• Promote the program and form strong partnerships with local services and employers.
• Provide in-person support across outreach locations while managing a participant caseload.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure services meet program guidelines and contractual requirements.

As a Parent Pathways Mentor, you’ll support parents of young children to overcome challenges, build confidence, and work toward education or employment. You’ll connect them with the right resources, opportunities, and support to help them thrive, while also raising program awareness through community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trust with parents, support goal-setting, and coach participants toward education, employment, and personal growth.
• Deliver strengths-based, personalised case management that accommodates parenting responsibilities and complex barriers.
• Connect participants with childcare, training, financial assistance, and wellbeing services to support progress.
• Promote the program and develop strong partnerships with local services and employers to create pathways to work experience and employment.
• Provide in-person support across outreach locations while actively managing a participant caseload.
• Maintain accurate records, manage caseloads efficiently, and ensure all services meet program guidelines and contractual requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Certificate III in Community Services, Employment Services, or a related field (completed, in progress, or willingness to undertake).
• Strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence; builds rapport, communicates with empathy, and engages effectively with diverse participants.
• Demonstrated initiative and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver community engagement activities and proactively promote program awareness.
• Highly proficient across a wide range of digital tools and adept at navigating multiple systems efficiently.
• Full work rights in Australia, with the ability to travel locally, obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
