MADEC is seeking a Casual Regional Liaison Officer in Port Augusta to support PALM workers. You will build trusted relationships, provide practical and wellbeing support, assist with appointments, transport and housing, and help workers access local services and community activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on empathy, initiative, and the ability to respond to urgent needs while maintaining accurate records and coordinating with MADEC teams.

Qualifications

• No specific background in community services required.
• Dependable, resourceful and confident taking responsibility.
• Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
• Good admin and computer skills, with timely reporting.

Responsabilités

• Building positive, trusted relationships with PALM Scheme workers.
• Providing pastoral care, practical assistance and wellbeing support.
• Assisting with medical appointments, transport and accommodation needs.
• Helping workers connect with local services and community activities.
• Supporting workers with workplace and personal matters.
• Assisting with worker arrivals, inductions and departures.
• Conducting regular worker check-ins and accommodation inspections.
• Responding promptly to emerging worker needs, assessing urgency and prioritising appropriate action.
• Exercising sound judgement when navigating unexpected situations, knowing when to act independently and when to escalate.
• Maintaining accurate records, completing incident reports and communicating with MADEC's administration and support teams.
• Supporting worker safety requirements and escalating wellbeing or workplace concerns.
