The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice role within the Far West Local Health District, delivering comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, and implementation of treatment modalities in Specialist Palliative Care. This position supports independent and collaborative expert palliative care nursing for patients with life-limiting illnesses across care settings.

Job description

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under theNSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing

The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice role comprising comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, and implementation of treatment modalities within the Specialist Palliative Care setting. Palliative Care NP provides independent and collaborative expert palliative care nursing for patients with life limiting illness, particularly in complex cases and across care settings
