Job summary

NSW Health’s Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Emergency Department on a temporary full-time contract. You will design, implement and evaluate education programs to advance nursing and midwifery practice, with a focus on delivering high-quality care in a rural setting.

The ideal candidate holds current nursing/midwifery registration with critical care experience and trainer credentials, plus a commitment to ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Current nursing/midwifery registration with 3 years' experience in Critical Care.
• Certificate IV Workplace Trainer & Assessor or willingness within 12 months.
• Critical Care Post Graduate Qualification or willingness within 24 months.
• Willingness to provide education/training in Critical Care and other areas.
• Credentialed as Advanced Life Support Instructor and in Triage, or willingness within 12 months.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and competence maintenance.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with strong computer skills for education delivery.
• Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel across rural/remote areas.

Clinical Nurse Educator Emergency Department

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under theNSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

• Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with 3 years' experience working in the specialty of Critical Care.
• Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (currently Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards and attain certificate within 12 months of commencement of position.
• Current Critical Care Post Graduate Qualification or willingness to work towards and attain certificate within 24 months of commencement of position.
• Willingness to provide mandatory education and training within Critical Care and other specialty areas.
• Credentialed as an Advanced Life Support Instructor and in Triage, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement of position.
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.
• Eligibility to drive in NSW and preparedness to travel across rural and remote areas.
