Job summary

Downer Group's Energy & Utilities division on Barrow Island is seeking a Painter Blaster for a casual ongoing assignment from November to January. You will perform abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and apply industrial protective coatings to critical infrastructure, operating on a 12-hour FIFO day roster.

The role requires a Trade Certificate III in Surface Preparation or related, WA Drivers Licence, White Card, and safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate III in surface preparation or similar; highly regarded.
• WA Drivers Licence and White Card / Construction Induction.
• Working at Heights and Gas Test Atmospheres completed within last 2 years.
• Basic Fire Fighting Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and application of industrial coatings and paint.
• Ensure quality workmanship while maintaining safety standards on Barrow Island.

The Opportunity

Downer's Energy & Utilities business has opportunities for Painter Blaster's to join the team located on Barrow Island, WA. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the longevity and integrity of key infrastructure through abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and the application of industrial protective coatings and paint. This is a casual ongoing position from November to January, joining our team on Butler Park Corrosion Project delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

About You

• Trade Certificate III Surface Preparation / Surface Finishing or similar - Highly regarded
• WA Drivers Licence
• White Card / Construction Induction
• Working at Heights & Gas Test Atmospheres (completed within last 2 years)
• Basic Fire Fighting Certificate
• Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
