Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Victoria is seeking a skilled Painting Trades Worker to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work across commercial construction, hospitality, retail, and interior fit-out projects, delivering high-quality painting and finishing solutions.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary package of AUD$80,000 per annum + superannuation, with 482 visa sponsorship available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Painting or equivalent recognised trade qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial painting and decorating.
• Experience with brush, roller and spray techniques.
• Ability to read drawings, specs and paint schedules.
• White Card (General Construction Induction) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces: sand, fill, seal and repair imperfections.
• Apply paints, varnishes, stains and specialty coatings.
• Mix paints to required colours and finishes.
• Read drawings and color schedules to meet project specs.
• Maintain tools and safety on site.

• Installingwallpaper,matchingpatterns,andcompletingdetailedfinishingwork
• Protectingsurroundingareasusingscaffolding,ladders,andprotectivecoverings
• Maintainingpaintingtools,equipment,andworkareasinaccordancewithsafetystandards
• Repairingminorsurfaces,windows,andcompletingrelatedfinishingtaskswhererequired
• Workingcollaborativelywithprojectmanagers,supervisors,andothertradesonsite
• FollowingallWHSrequirements,siteprocedures,andsafeworkpractices
• Monitoringmaterialusageandreportingprojectprogresstosupervisor

Requirements & Eligibility

• CertificateIIIinPaintingandDecoratingorequivalentrecognisedtradequalification
• Minimum1yearofexperienceincommercialpaintinganddecorating
• Strongexperienceusingbrush,roller,andspraypaintingtechniques
• Knowledgeofsurfacepreparationmethodsincludingsanding,filling,priming,andsealing
• Abilitytointerpretconstructiondrawings,specifications,andpaintschedules
• Experienceworkingoncommercialconstructionorinteriorfit-outprojects
• Abilitytoworksafelyatheightsandwithinactiveconstructionenvironments
• AbilitytoobtainaWhiteCard(GeneralConstructionInductionTraining)
• Strongattentiontodetailwithafocusonqualityfinishes
• Abilitytoworkindependentlyandaspartofateam
• Goodcommunicationskillsandabilitytoworkprofessionallywithsupervisorsandclients
• Experiencewithspecialtycoatings,decorativefinishes,orepoxyflooringisadvantageous
• Commercialpaintingexperienceinhospitality,retail,orhigh-endfit-outenvironmentsisdesirable
• Validdriver’slicenceisadvantageous
