Responsibilities

• Mix and prepare paints, stains and varnishes to specified colours and consistencies.
• Prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting, incl. stripping, repairs, filling cracks, sanding and sealing.
• Apply paint, varnish or other finishes using brushes, rollers or spray equipment for a durable finish.
• Hang and install wallpaper with correct pattern alignment and trimming.
• Set up and safeguard work areas with scaffolding, ladders and drop sheets.
• Clean, maintain and store tools and materials; keep work areas tidy.

About the Role

Gill Painting Pty Ltd is an Australian painting services company based in South Australia, specializing in professional painting and decorating services for residential and commercial projects. The company has been operating since 2022.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Mix and prepare paints, stains and varnishes to specified colours and consistencies by combining pigments, oils, thinners, drying agents and other required additives.
2. 2. Prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting by stripping old paint and wallpaper, repairing timber and woodwork, filling cracks, holes and imperfections, and sanding, smoothing and sealing surfaces.
3. 3. Prepare and coat a variety of surfaces with paint, varnishes, stains, and other protective finishes using appropriate brushes, rollers, and spray-painting equipment to achieve a quality and durable finish.
4. 4. Hang and install wallpaper, ensuring correct pattern alignment and matching, with accurate trimming and finishing around corners, edges, fixtures and fittings.
5. 5. Set up and safeguard work areas by erecting scaffolding and ladders and placing drop sheets, covers and other protective materials to minimize paint splatter and protect surrounding areas.
6. 6. Clean, maintain and safely store painting tools, equipment and materials, while leaving work areas tidy and free from paint residue and waste.
7. 7. Undertake minor wall and floor tiling tasks as required, including repairing, replacing and finishing damaged or defective tiles.
8. 8. Comply with relevant workplace health and safety requirements, including the correct use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools, materials and painting products additives.
