Boom Kids Clinic is seeking an experienced Paediatric Dietitian to join our Prestons clinic in south-west Sydney, with telehealth support for Victoria families. This role goes beyond general nutrition, focusing on complex disabilities and medical nutrition in collaboration with Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams.
You will lead enteral nutrition management, support MDT care, supervise junior dietitians, and contribute to the development of specialist feeding services
A rare opportunity to work at the intersection of clinical nutrition, disability and multidisciplinary care, where your skills as an experienced clinician are genuinely needed.
This is not a general practice dietitian role
We are specifically seeking a dietitian who has moved beyond general nutrition, weight management and allergy clinics into the more complex space of paediatric disability and medical nutrition. If you have supported tube-fed children, managed nutrition in the context of neurological conditions, or navigated the complexity of feeding for children with significant medical histories, this role was built around someone like you.
Our families come to us with children who have complex, co-occurring needs. The dietitian we are looking for understands that enteral feeding decisions sit within a much bigger clinical picture.
This position is based at our well-equipped Prestons clinic in south-west Sydney, where you will work alongside Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists within our specialist feeding services. You will also provide telehealth consultations to children and families accessing Boom Kids Clinic services in Victoria.
You will contribute your expertise as an equal member of a truly integrated multidisciplinary team, not simply as a referral endpoint.
Assess and manage nutritional needs for children with complex disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Delay
Provide specialist nutritional management for enterally-fed children, including formula selection, feeding tolerance and transition planning
Support children with gastrointestinal conditions including tube dependency, dysmotility, reflux and malabsorption
Guide families through complex elimination diets and GI symptom management with disability-informed clinical reasoning
Conduct comprehensive growth and nutritional assessments adapted for children with motor and physical disabilities
Collaborate within MDT feeding clinics for children with mixed oral/enteral feeding and transition goals
Deliver telehealth dietetic services to children and families in Victoria, collaborating with our VIC-based therapy teams to ensure coordinated care
Provide clinical supervision to early career dietitians, supporting their professional development within a complex needs context
Recognised qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics, with eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status
Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience, with a meaningful proportion in paediatric or disability settings
Demonstrated enteral nutrition experience, including formula management, PEG/NGT feeding protocols and feeding tolerance
Solid understanding of nutritional assessment in children where standard growth charts and methods require adaptation due to physical disability or altered body composition
Experience navigating the intersection of nutrition and gastrointestinal conditions common in disability, including constipation, dysmotility and GORD
Confidence working autonomously while contributing meaningfully to an MDT, including through telehealth
Demonstrated ability or readiness to provide clinical supervision
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including writing reports for NDIS and other funding bodies
Experience with tube-to-oral transition programs and blended diet protocols
Familiarity with NDIS funding, support plans and goals-based documentation
Experience supporting families in complex feeding anxiety or trauma-informed feeding contexts
Experience managing eosinophilic gastrointestinal conditions
Unlimited professional development budget. Your continuing education is funded, not rationed
Flexible working hours: early starts, late finishes or a 4-day compressed week
Your own dedicated therapy room at our Prestons clinic, with an extensive range of clinical resources
Use of shared clinic vehicles for off-site consultations
Genuine MDT integration: working alongside Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in a collaborative, co-treating model
Opportunities to collaborate with clinicians across both NSW and VIC
Experienced administration team managing bookings, invoicing and non-clinical tasks
Paperless, cloud-based systems for clinical notes and scheduling
Access to our rewards and salary progression program following your probation period
Opportunities to contribute to the development of specialist feeding services within a growing multidisciplinary organisation
Team connection days, retreats and social events - celebrating wins is a genuine part of our culture
