Western Kids Health, Shenton Park and Hillarys, Perth WA. Part time, 0.6 FTE (22.8 hours per week) across three days. Maximum term parental leave cover, 12 months, starting February or March 2027.
Why this role
This is a senior clinical role with real range. You will carry an advanced paediatric caseload across our specialised Feeding and ARFID clinic, Early Intervention and our Helpful Habits program, work in joint appointments with psychology, OT, speech pathology and physiotherapy, and be the senior clinical voice for dietetics at Western Kids Health. Supervision, triage and program work have their own time in your week.
About Western Kids Health
Western Kids Health is a multidisciplinary paediatric allied health practice in Perth, founded in 2018. Our physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists and dietitians work side by side across two clinics, Victoria House in Shenton Park and our Hillarys clinic, supporting children and families from the early years through to adolescence.
Our services are organised into clinics: Early Intervention, Mental Health, Gender Diversity, Feeding and ARFID, School Aged Services and Complex Care. Within each, our team works as a true MDT, including joint appointments where clinicians from different disciplines see a child and family together in the same session.
Our model of care is family centred, strengths based and attachment informed, within a family systems framework. We see parents as the experts in their own child and we work alongside them. The same approach shapes how we lead our team.
Beyond the clinic room, our team runs group programs, delivers professional development on emotional regulation and mental health for schools and other services, and provides outreach. Western Kids Health works closely with not-for-profits including Tiny Sparks WA, Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA and PlaygroupWA, and holds a Commonwealth contract for allied health outreach to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
About the role
Our dietitians work across three parts of the practice. The Feeding and ARFID clinic brings dietetics together with psychology, OT and speech pathology for children with fussy eating, ARFID and complex feeding presentations, often in the same appointment. Helpful Habits is our family based healthy habits and weight management program, delivered with psychology and physiotherapy. In Early Intervention you support babies and toddlers and their parents with starting solids, fussy eating and growth faltering. Around these sits the everyday paediatric caseload: nutritional deficiencies and gastrointestinal concerns such as constipation and IBS.
As Senior Dietitian you hold the advanced caseload, supervise less experienced dietitians, allied health assistants and students, triage new dietetics referrals, and act as the senior clinical reference point for dietetics across the practice. You work closely in our Feeding Program on program development, including building our ARFID service into a centre of excellence.
Your week
At 0.6 FTE (22.8 hours per week) the clinical target is an average of five billable hours per clinical day, or 15 billable hours a week across three clinical days. The rest of your week is non billable time for supervision, triage, documentation, Feeding Program work and community education, so the senior parts of the role are planned for rather than fitted around the edges.
