Job summary

Inspire Healthcare is seeking a qualified Dietitian to join our Melbourne team, delivering therapeutic interventions for people with disability and the elderly under home care and NDIS services. We welcome contract or casual arrangements, with responsibilities spanning nutrition assessments, enteral nutrition, and person-centred care.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with clients, families and funding bodies, and contribute to flexible service areas across Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Dietetics or equivalent.
• DAA/APD status required.
• Clinical supervision and professional development experience.
• NDIS experience preferred.
• Current VIC Driver’s Licence.
• Current VIC Working with Children Check.
• Police Check.
• New graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutrition and dietary requirements for clients with disabilities and impairments.
• Support dietary needs for swallowing difficulties and other conditions.
• Provide home enteral nutrition and nutritional therapy.
• Develop individual, evidence-based treatment plans and goals.
• Communicate assessed needs to clients and funding organisations.

Job description

We are a community-based organisation and we currently provide mobile services across Melbourne and Sydney. We provide services to: clients on the home care package, participants under the NDIS as well as private clients. We are seeking a Dietitian to join our Melbourne team.

Inspire Healthcare is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified and passionate Dietitianto join our team on a contract or casualbasis. You will be responsible for the delivery of therapeutic interventions for people with disability as well as the elderly.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

• Assessments of nutrition and dietary requirements for clients with a wide range of disabilities and impairments.
• Supporting dietary requirements for persons with difficulty swallowing and chewing, bowel and intestinal issues and other complex co-morbidities.
• Experience with the provision of home enteral nutrition and nutritional therapy.
• Development of individual, evidence-based treatment plans and goals to address any deficits identified in these areas ensuring best practice and the client’s individual person-centred plan.
• Communicate assessed needs clearly and precisely to the client and the funding organisation within appropriate time frames.
• Liaise with families, specialist services and other stakeholders as appropriate.
• Regularly review client treatment plans and goals.
• Develop and implement programs, strategies, and materials to enable clients to achieve their health and lifestyle goals.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be a driven and energetic professional with strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to demonstrate your skills and experience as a Dietitianin a multidisciplinary team. You will be a motivated, passionate professional, who thrives on supporting people with disabilities and their families in our local community.

You will require the following qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Dietetics or equivalent qualification
• Member of Dietitian Association of Australia (DAA), with Provisional or Full APD (Accredited Practising Dietitian) status
• Experience in the profession and evidence of involvement in clinical supervision and professional development as required by Dietitians Association Australia (DAA)
• Experience with NDIS (preferred by not necessary)
• Strong organisational skills
• Current VIC Driver’s Licence
• Current VIC Working with Children Check
• Police Check
