Job summary

Sara Lee Australia is seeking Packing Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team on Day and Afternoon shifts on a permanent full-time basis. You will work across production and packing lines, set up and run equipment, monitor performance, perform basic maintenance, and ensure HACCP and GMP standards are met.

Full training provided; prior experience in high-volume FMCG or healthcare manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience, ideally within high‑volume FMCG, food or healthcare manufacturing.
• Experience working across different production lines or machinery.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, quality and safety principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive, can‑do attitude.
• The ability to adapt quickly and work effectively across different teams.
• Willingness to learn a range of equipment and production processes.
• Reliability and a strong commitment to supporting the wider production team.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and starting packing equipment
• Operating and monitoring packing machinery throughout production runs
• Troubleshooting machinery and resolving basic mechanical issues
• Completing safe start‑up and end‑of‑shift shutdown procedures
• Ensuring packaging materials and supplies are sufficiently stocked
• Assisting with product changeovers and basic preventative maintenance
• Operating equipment including metal detectors, x‑ray systems, check weighers, sleevers, case packers, labellers and manual packing stations
• Performing quality checks and maintaining accurate production documentation
• Maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards in line with HACCP and GMP
• Meeting production targets and monitoring line performance
• Moving between production areas as required to support operational needs
• Working safely and in accordance with company quality and safety systems

Packing / Machine Operator - Day & Afternoon shifts

Due to continued business growth and increasing demand for our products, we're looking for experienced Packing Machine Operators to join our team across our Day and Afternoon Shifts on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role

As a Packing Machine Operator, you will work across a range of our production and packing lines, providing additional coverage and backfilling where required.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across different equipment, products and teams. You will be trained across multiple areas of our operation, giving you the skills and flexibility to support production wherever needed.
