Job summary

Primo Smallgoods is seeking a Machine Operator for the Packaging Department afternoon shift. The role is a permanent, full-time position with on-the-job training to become proficient across required machinery and processes.

You will operate, set up, and monitor packaging equipment, ensuring quality, safety and production standards while collaborating with the production team to meet targets and maintain hygiene and safety in the workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience in food manufacturing or packaging.
• Experience operating production equipment.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and complete written documentation.
• Availability for afternoon shift.
• Willingness to complete training and competency assessments as part of role requirements.

Machine Operator – Afternoon Shift | Packaging Department

Machine Operators for our Packaging Department afternoon shift in a permanent, full-time position. Candidates must have machine operating experience and work with our production team in a manufacturing environment

About the Role

As a Machine Operator within Smallgoods Pack, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating production and packaging equipment while maintaining quality, safety and production standards.

You will initially complete structured on-the-job training to ensure you are confident and competent across the required machinery and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate and monitor production and packaging machinery

Complete machine changeovers and basic adjustments

Identify and respond to machine faults

Maintain compliance with product quality and food safety standards

Complete required production and quality documentation

Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures

Work with the Smallgoods Pack team to meet production targets

Maintain work area according to hygiene and safety requirements

About You

Candidates must have:

Previous machine operating experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or similar production environment

Experience operating production equipment

Ability to follow documented procedures and complete written documentation

Availability for afternoon shift work

Current or valid food handling certification (if required)

Willingness to complete training and competency assessments as part of role requirements
