Job summary

Perfect Automation Pty Ltd in Riverstone NSW is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to take machines from delivery to production, installing and commissioning packaging equipment on customer lines, diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic and mechatronic faults.

Reporting to the Director, you will perform preventive maintenance, conduct testing and quality checks, prepare service reports, and provide on-site guidance to operators, contributing to reliable lines and strong after-sales support.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a mechanical engineering or packaging machinery technician.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and schematics.
• Knowledge of quality control testing and preventive maintenance planning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and time-management under time pressure.
• Clear written and verbal communication with clients on site.
• Ability to travel to customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission packaging machinery at customer sites, integrating with production lines.
• Set up and tune machines to suit product and film formats.
• Carry out planned maintenance and reduce downtime.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, pneumatic and mechatronic systems and repair promptly.
• Replace worn components and source spare parts.
• Conduct quality checks and trial runs to verify performance.
• Prepare service reports and technical records for compliance.
• Provide guidance to operators on safe operation and routine care.
• Work in line with health and safety requirements including lockout/tagout.
