Job summary

Henkel is seeking a packaging engineer in Australia to develop innovative packaging solutions that meet quality, cost, sustainability, and regulatory requirements. You will lead qualification, validation, and artwork approval while maintaining specification databases and performing data analysis.

You will evaluate materials/technologies to drive cost reductions and processes improvements, collaborate across R&D and suppliers, and support sustainability initiatives within Henkel’s global

Qualifications

  • Degree in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' packaging experience in FMCG or similar industry.
  • Experience using packaging measurement equipment with strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and statistical analysis software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with detail orientation and continuous learning.
  • Self-motivated, creative and collaborative team player with ability to manage competing priorities.

Job description

  • Develop and implement innovative packaging solutions that meet international standards and requirements for quality, functionality, cost, sustainability, market, safety, regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Develop packaging solutions to support promotional activities and brand requirements.
  • Lead packaging qualification and validation activities, including performance and compatibility testing, and provide technical input and approval for packaging artwork.
  • Maintain packaging specification databases, including accurate measurements, data management and statistical analysis.
  • Identify and evaluate packaging materials and technologies that improve processes, reduce costs and complexity, and deliver competitive advantage.
  • Support Henkel's sustainability agenda and compliance with APCO covenant obligations.
  • Monitor packaging trends and proactively identify emerging technologies, materials and innovations to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with packaging suppliers, R&D teams and internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring laboratory activities, performance testing, processes, consumables, calibration and equipment maintenance comply with Henkel standards and good laboratory practices.
What makes you a good fit
