Job summary

Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business is seeking an Application Engineer based in Seven Hills, NSW. In this hands-on role you will apply engineering expertise and adhesive technology to support customers in the packaging industry, optimise manufacturing performance and deliver innovative solutions.

You will work across water-based, hotmelt and polyurethane adhesives, collaborate with customers and internal teams, and travel interstate with occasional international assignments while maintaining

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong technical curiosity and willingness to develop adhesive technology expertise.
  • Hands-on, analytical and proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Collaborative and customer-focused with ability to build cross-team relationships.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience or exposure to adhesives, coatings, packaging, or manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and application expertise to customers in the packaging industry.
  • Troubleshoot and optimise adhesive performance to improve reliability, quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct customer trials, equipment start-ups and product testing in manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and implement adhesive solutions across packaging, labelling, tissue and paper applications.
  • Collaborate with Sales and internal teams to understand customer needs and deliver technical solutions.
  • Analyse application performance and identify opportunities for process and cost improvements.
  • Work across laboratory and customer manufacturing environments, with interstate and occasional international travel.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and documentation, using digital tools to prepare technical reports, presentations and CRM updates.

About this Position

Join Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business and play a key technical role supporting customers across the packaging industry. Based in Seven Hills, NSW, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and technically curious Application Engineer to apply engineering expertise and adhesive technology to solve customer challenges, optimise manufacturing performance and deliver innovative solutions. Working across water-based, hotmelt and polyurethane adhesives, you'll collaborate with customers and internal teams across a diverse range of packaging applications, with regular interstate and occasional international travel.

What you'll do
