Job summary

Australia’s Oyster Coast is seeking motivated individuals to join our oyster processing team. No prior seafood processing experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided.

The role involves washing, sorting, opening and packing oysters to meet strict quality and timeframe standards, with emphasis on accuracy and traceability. You’ll work indoors in a cold environment, contribute to a busy, teamwork-driven operation, and help maintain high food safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• No seafood processing experience required; training provided.
• Physically capable to perform demanding oyster processing tasks.
• Able to work indoors in a cold environment.
• Able to meet food safety standards and quality control requirements.
• Drivers licence and forklift licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sort, open and pack oysters to meet business requirements and timeframes.
• Inspect oysters for quality, grade and sort by size.
• Pick and pack oysters to fulfill customer orders and expectations.
• Open, pack and present oysters to a high standard.
• Label all opened oysters with product record numbers for traceability.
• Maintain a tidy processing area in line with food safety guidelines.
• Perform cleaning and sanitising duties at end of shift.
