Challenger Services Group seeks an experienced Overnight Public Area Supervisor to lead our overnight cleaning operations in a premium hotel environment in Sydney. This part-time role requires hands-on leadership from 11:00pm to 7:00am, with shifts rostered across a 7-day operation, including weekends and public holidays.

You will supervise the overnight Public Area team, inspect quality, allocate tasks, and report issues while maintaining high presentation standards.

• Previous supervisory, team leader or leading-hand experience within cleaning, hospitality or facilities services.
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the overnight Public Area team, providing direction and guidance.
• Allocate and monitor daily tasks to ensure on-time completion.
• Conduct quality inspections of lobbies, bathrooms, lifts, corridors and back-of-house areas.
• Ensure overnight cleaning and deep-cleaning activities meet scope and site requirements.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to stakeholders.
• Provide completion reports, photos and shift updates to management.
• Support hands-on cleaning duties when required.
• Assist with training and development of team members.
• Maintain WH&S, compliance and quality standards.
• Build positive relationships with hotel management and stakeholders.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and hands‑on Overnight Public Area Supervisor to lead our overnight cleaning operations within a premium hotel environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who takes pride in maintaining exceptional presentation standards while supporting and developing a high‑performing team.

Working overnight shifts from 11:00pm to 7:00am, you'll play a key role in ensuring the hotel's public areas remain clean, safe and welcoming for guests. Shifts are rostered across a 7-day operation, which may include weekends and public holidays.

Location: Sydney CBD, NSW

What You'll Be Doing

As the Overnight Public Area Supervisor, you'll lead from the front while ensuring all cleaning operations are completed to the highest standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising the overnight Public Area team, providing direction, support and guidance throughout each shift.
• Allocating and monitoring daily tasks to ensure all scheduled duties are completed efficiently and on time.
• Conducting quality inspections of public areas including lobbies, bathrooms, lifts, corridors and back‑of‑house areas to ensure hotel standards are consistently met.
• Ensuring all overnight cleaning and deep‑cleaning activities are completed in accordance with the scope of works and site requirements.
• Reporting maintenance issues, hazards and operational concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Providing completion reports, photos and shift updates to management.
• Supporting the team with hands‑on cleaning duties where required.
• Assisting with the training, coaching and development of team members.
• Maintaining a strong focus on workplace health and safety, compliance and quality standards.
• Building positive working relationships with hotel management and key stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Previous supervisory, team leader or leading‑hand experience within cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality or facilities services.
• Experience leading teams in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high presentation standards.
• Experience conducting inspections, audits or quality checks.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to motivate, support and develop team members.
• Confidence using mobile devices to complete reports, communicate updates and provide completion photos.
• The ability to work independently and make decisions during overnight operations.
• Availability to work 11:00pm - 7:00am shifts on a roster scheduled across a 7-day operation.
