Job summary

Challenger Services Group is hiring a Part-Time Public Area Cleaner to join our premium hospitality team at a leading Sydney 5-star hotel. You will maintain lobbies, corridors and guest-facing areas to five-star standards, with flexible daytime or overnight shifts in Sydney CBD.

We value reliability, attention to detail and the ability to work independently or with a team. Previous cleaning or hospitality experience is preferred, and a Food Handler Basics Certificate is welcome.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

As a Public Area Cleaner, you'll be responsible for:

• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of hotel lobbies, corridors, lifts, restrooms, and guest-facing public areas.
• Ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and maintained to five-star standards.
• Reporting maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly.
• Assisting with the overall appearance and guest experience of the hotel.
• Working closely with housekeeping and hotel management teams.
• Following all workplace safety, cleaning, and operational procedures.
• Delivering exceptional attention to detail throughout every shift.

About You

You'll be someone who:

• Takes pride in maintaining high cleaning and presentation standards.
• Has previous cleaning, housekeeping, public area, or hospitality experience (preferred but not essential).
• Enjoys working independently while also contributing to a team environment.
• Is reliable, punctual, and committed to quality work.
• Has strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Has flexibility to work day, overnight, weekend, and public holiday shifts as required.
• Can work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Holds a Food Handler Basics Certificate (preferred but not essential).
