Job summary

Nambucca Valley Council is seeking a reliable Water Meter Officer to join the Water and Sewerage team in Macksville. The role involves reading and replacing water meters, investigating unusual usage and helping move to smart meter technology, with responsibilities across fieldwork and route management.

You will travel throughout the Nambucca Valley, work independently on daily routes, and contribute to delivering essential services.

Qualifications

• A current NSW Class C driver's licence.
• A Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workload.
• Good communication skills with the public.
• Willingness to undertake an outdoor role including walking up to 16km daily.

Responsibilities

• Read and read daily routes to read residential and commercial water meters.
• Replace 20mm and 25mm water meters as part of renewal program.
• Investigate unusual readings and assist customers with leaks.
• Support installation and transition to digital water meters and software.
• Record meter readings and locations using handheld devices.
