Nambucca Valley Council is seeking a reliable Water Meter Officer to join our Water and Sewerage team. This hands-on role involves reading and replacing water meters across the Nambucca Valley, investigating unusual usage and helping the transition to smart meter technology.

You will travel daily, manage your routes independently, and contribute to delivering an essential community service. Strong safety awareness and physical fitness are important for this active outdoor role.

Qualifications

• Practical, self-motivated candidates who can work independently.
• Good communication skills and professional approach when dealing with the public.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements.

Responsabilités

• Read residential and commercial water meters along planned daily routes.
• Replace existing 20mm and 25mm water meters as part of renewal program.
• Investigate unusual readings and assist customers with potential leaks.
• Support installation and transition to digital water meters and related software.
• Accurately record readings, locations, replacements using handheld devices.
