Job summary

Carey Baptist Grammar School invites applicants for an Outdoor Education Instructor role as part of the Zero Program. The position involves delivering a Year 10 outdoor curriculum across Far North Queensland, with on-site duties in Kew for Terms 1 and 4 and in Far North Queensland for Terms 2 and 3.

You will liaise with the Zero team, manage equipment, prepare gear, and lead groups while supporting student and staff wellbeing and safety.

Qualifications

• Outdoor Education qualifications or equivalent in applicable activities.
• Current manual Driver's Licence is required.
• Passion for sustainable practices and conservation.
• Proactive team player with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent communication with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Zero team on program details, student management, incidents and first aid.
• Collaborate with Deputy Head of Zero - Programming to manage equipment and resources.
• Prepare and pack gear for specific programs.
• Lead groups safely through program activities.
• Support wellbeing of students and staff.
