Job summary

Platform Instruments Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced OSS/IT Operations professional in Sydney to own and manage OSS applications, provide L2 support, and lead root cause analysis. The role includes incident management, upgrades, health checks, and automation initiatives.

Strong collaboration skills and on-call availability are essential for sustaining high availability and service levels. The ideal candidate has deep OSS/NMS experience, VMware and SQL skills, and familiarity with ITIL

Qualifications

• Strong OSS/NMS platform knowledge (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Cisco).
• VMware, virtualization and infrastructure knowledge.
• SQL and database administration experience.
• Scripting and automation experience (Shell/Python preferred).
• ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Available for on-call support and emergency changes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage OSS applications, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
• Provide L2 technical support and escalation point for complex issues.
• Lead troubleshooting, RCA, and permanent incident resolution.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and service commitments.
• Support major incident management and service restoration.
• Plan upgrades, patching, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
• Perform proactive health checks, capacity reviews, and performance optimization.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
• Drive automation and process improvements to reduce effort.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical guidance.

• Own and manage OSS applications, ensuring high availability and operational stability
• Provide L2 technical support and act as the escalation point for complex issues
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and permanent resolution of incidents
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, operational KPIs, and service commitments
• Support major incident management and service restoration activities
• Plan and execute upgrades, patching, migrations, and decommissioning activities
• Perform proactive health checks, capacity reviews, and performance optimization
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, knowledge articles, and technical documentation
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to reduce operational effort
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical guidance to support teams
