Job summary

Sheldon College in Redland City, Queensland, invites applications for a Casual Early Childhood Educator. Under direction of centre leaders, you will assist in implementing the out of school hours care program and engage with children in a group setting.

The role suits university students studying Early Childhood Education, offering flexible casual hours across mornings, afternoons and holidays. We welcome both new entrants and experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
• Currently studying an Early Childhood related qualification.
• Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting certificate (or able to obtain).
• ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis & Emergency Asthma Training (or able to obtain).
• Valid Blue Card or able to obtain.
• Accredited Child Protection Training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and interact with children within the centre.
• Set up age-appropriate activities and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Support the implementation of the out of school hours care program.
• Work with centre leaders to meet individual needs of each child.

The Role

We are currently seeking Casual Early Childhood Educator who, under the direction of the Centre leaders, will assist in implementing a out of school hours care program catering to the individual needs of each child within a group setting.

Early Childhood Educators play a crucial role at the College, with each day offering a variety-filled and dynamic experience.

Primary duties include supervising and interacting with the children, setting up activities, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all at our Centre.

We have varied casual hours available to support our centre as required, including mornings, afternoons, and vacations.

This role is well suited to university students studying Early Childhood Education or a related field, offering the flexibility of casual hours to work alongside your studies.

You will hold:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent); or
• Currently be studying Early Childhood related qual;
• Current Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting certificate or ability to obtain;
• Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management Training or ability to obtain;
• Valid Blue Card or the ability to successfully obtain;
• Accredited Child Protection Training.

We will consider both new to industry and experienced candidates. For those new to industry (and not currently studying) commencement and successful completion of the Certificate III and other accreditations if successful is a mandatory requirement.
