Job summary

YMCA Benowa Outside School Hours Care is seeking a capable Assistant Coordinator to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. You’ll support the Coordinator with day-to-day operations, lead programming and guide a passionate team to deliver safe, fun, and enriching care for children.

You’ll work with a not-for-profit organisation focused on community impact, with opportunities for professional development and career progression within the YMCA OSHC network.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or studying towards; Teaching qualification considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in children’s programming and administration.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Familiarity with the National Quality Framework (NQF).

Responsibilities

• Support the daily running of the service.
• Assist with child-led, play-based programming.
• Provide guidance to educators and support staffing needs.
• Maintain compliance and support administration processes.
• Engage positively with children, families, schools and the local community.
