Job summary

YMCA Queensland is seeking an Assistant Coordinator for the YMCA East Brisbane OSHC, on a permanent part-time basis. The role supports the Coordinator with daily operations, leads programming, and mentors staff to deliver safe, engaging care for children.

You will help maintain compliance, engage with families and schools, and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment across the service.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Children’s Services, ECEC or Teaching (or studying towards).
• Experience in planning and delivering child-led play-based programming.
• Experience with administration and coordination tasks.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A valid Paid Blue Card and current First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain).
• Familiarity with the National Quality Framework (NQF).

Responsibilities

• Support the daily running of the service.
• Assist with child-led, play-based programming.
• Provide guidance to educators and support staffing needs.
• Maintain compliance and support administration processes.
• Engage positively with children, families, schools and the local community.
