Qualifications

• Advanced experience as Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout in a surgical hospital setting.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Post-graduate qualifications relevant to ophthalmology or commitment to pursuing them.
• Strong clinical and technical capability with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based care tailored to each stage of the patient journey.
• Prepare the facility and environment for safe, efficient surgery.
• Coordinate procurement to ensure teams have necessary resources.
• Prioritise patient safety with clear team communication and prompt response to changes.
• Mentor and educate colleagues to build confidence and safe practices.
• Support quality and safety improvements across the hospital.
