Job summary

Downer is seeking experienced Operators to join the Water Pipelines Division in Melbourne, delivering multiple water main renewal projects as part of a small, skilled team.

You will operate plant and equipment (excavators, bobcats, etc.) on site, contribute to safe, on-time project delivery, and uphold Downer's commitment to Zero Harm safety culture. This permanent role offers EBA rates, weekday schedule, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Construction Induction card (White Card) required.
• Valid Light Vehicle or higher driver's licence.
• First Aid & CPR certifications active.
• Desirable: Class B Asbestos Removalist qualifications.
• Experience in water/utilities industry.
• Experience operating excavators, bobcats, and similar plant.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Commitment to Zero Harm safety culture.

About the Role

We are currently looking for multiple experienced Operators to join our Water Pipelines Division completing multiple water main renewal projects as part of a small, skilled team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Construction Induction card (White Card)
• A current driver's licence of Light Rigid or above
• Current First Aid & CPR certifications
• Class B Asbestos Removalist Qualifications (highly desirable)
• Proven experience working in the water / utilities industry
• Experience with operating plant and equipment such as excavators, bobcats etc.
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• A strong commitment to our Zero Harm safety culture
