Tamworth Regional Council is seeking an Operator – Transport Operations (Barraba/Manilla) to join a hands-on outdoor team maintaining and constructing civil infrastructure in the Tamworth region. Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction, Plant or similar is desirable; applicants with 12 months experience may be accepted.
• WHS General Induction for Construction Work is required.
• LR Driver Licence is required.
• Immunisations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Q Fever and Tetanus, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking daily plant operations and general maintenance and construction works within a small team.
• Participating in daily toolbox meetings and completing plant pre-start inspections.
• Operating a range of plant and equipment including excavators, skid steers, tipper trucks, rollers, water carts, chainsaws, concrete saws and associated implements.
• Operating a range of plant and equipment including backhoes, front end loaders, bobcats, excavators (<20t), trucks, rollers and tractors with associated implements.
• Applying knowledge of engineering infrastructure construction and maintenance techniques.
• Following established procedures, processes and safe work practices.
• Working effectively with others to achieve team objectives and quality outcomes.
• Working with minimal supervision and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Monitoring and maintaining a safe workplace and contributing to a positive safety culture.

The Operator – Transport Operations can be responsible for:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS IN THIS ROLE:

• Certificate III in Civil Construction, Plant or similar OR at least five years experience in a relevant civil construction, maintenance or plant operation field
• WHS General Induction for Construction Work
• LR Driver Licence
• Immunisations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Q Fever and Tetanus, or willingness to obtain

A Certificate III in Civil Construction, Plant or other related field is desirable however applicants with 12 months equivilant experience and/or a willingness to obtain this Certficate will be accepted.

Salary range: Grade 6 -$1,081.10 - $1,169.80 per week plus superannuation & allowances for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
